Is it Halloween Yet!!

Well, Actually it is! It's Halloween all year round over at Simply B Stamps, and today we are starting off our '12 Months of Halloween' challenges.

We have a fun and simple little challenge for you today!

Our challenge is Monochromatic and One Halloween Colour! All you have to do is create a black and white Monochromatic project and throw in one other Halloween color; Orange, Lime Green, Purple, or any other one color you would deem SPooKy!

See pretty easy peasy! One lucky winner will be deemed Halloween Queen of the Month! As Halloween Queen of the Month, you will get a digi to work with, a badge, and be the star of our next Halloween challenge! Sounds like fun right? SO let's get those Halloween stamps, papers, and embellishments out and get to crafting!

Here's my project for the challenge...

Looks like a fun scene! I created my scene in Photoshop, but you can create a similar scene just as easily, by printing/stamping your elements separately, colouring them, and then fussy cutting them out, and arranging them to form a scene. I used the Kitchen Set Digi Stamps from Make It Crafty for my background. I used a checkerboard background paper for the kitchen floor. I used some of my favourite Simply B Stamps images too, Lola, Betty, Rio, London, and Miller all from the Teen Scene Kitchen Fun Collection.

Let's go to the Zoo with the Pixies

It's time for a new Pixie Dust Studio Challenge, and this week we are off out on some Adventures, yes we are going to the Zoo!!

This weeks challenge is to create a card/project with an Animal on it somewhere!

It must have been a magical zoo i went to, because i saw this wonderful Unicorn called Moonbeam, so I had to use him on my card. Moonbeam is coloured with a mix of Letraset Promarkers/Flexmarkers and Derwent Coloursoft Pencils.

A Suzi Card for Sunday...

Now if this Card isn't a typical Suzi Card I don't know what is!! As soon as I saw this cute image I knew i had to make a card with her, reminds me of myself giving Bagpuss his 6 monthly bath! (No Joke!) My card features the adorable Tyalisha image by Lia Stampz available at Whimsy Stamps.

I had great fun with this card, using lots of my favourite things, you might recognise a few, Bright shocking pink, washi tape, sequin mesh, twine, tiny word stickers, and pearls. Of course Tyalisha is coloured with a mix of Letraset Promarkers and Flexmarkers.

Hope this card makes you smile, cos it does me :D

Whimsy Stamps Colour Combo Challenge

This week's Whimsy Stamps Challenge is a colour combo;

All you need to do is you Blue & Brown on your project.

I used the adorable Asha with Present by Lia Stampz. Asha is coloured with a mix of Letraset Promarkers and Flexmarkers. My patterned papers are from the DCWV Colour Blocks Paper Pad (was hiding in my stash), I used some caramel and brown cardstock from my stash for my card base, and for the embossed panel at the bottom of the card. My sentiment is a mix of self adhesive cardstock letters and a number diecut; the letters were actually pastel in colour, so i just coloured them with the same pens as my image to coordinate.

I resisted the tempation to add any bling to this card, as I think it will make a very good birthday card for my brother, and he's not into bling, lol!! It's a little plain for me, but i think he'll like it, hope you do too!

O is for Oscar...

Today I am so excited to show your our first Cutie from Jude and the Rockers Playtime line! This adorable collection will be available in the Simply B Stamps Store on Friday 20th Jan, so everyday up until then we will be sharing a new cutie with you.

We are kicking it off with ABC Oscar!

Isn't he an adorable little monster, Oscar is paired up with papers from the 'Hello Spaceboy' Paper Pad by Prima. I coloured him with Letraset Promarkers & Flemarkers before fussy cutting him out and adding him to one of my patterned papers. I kept the embellishments simple, with some washi tape, a few black pearls, and a sentiment sticker (wordart on Letraset Safmat).

I love the expression on his face, I think that is one of my favourite things about the Jude and the Rockers Collections, they all have such wonderful expression on their faces, really brings them to life for me.

Based on a Book Blog Hop...

Welcome Hoppers, Tanya came up with the cool idea of a 'Based on a Book Blog Hop' and I couldn't resist joining in, you should have just arrived from Charity's Blog, if you have your on the right track; If you've just stumbled across this Hop, you can find the full hop list on Tanya's Blog, along with details or a rather cool prize.

I couldn't resist basing my card on Alice in Wonderland, it really is one of my favourite stories of all time, sometimes i think i live in Wonderland! My Card features two beautiful images, Snap Dragon Garden from Make it Crafty along with Alice from the Alice in Wonderland Chibi Collection which will be available at Simply B Stamps at the End of March.

I coloured my images with Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers. I used a mask to create my checkered board floor along with some Black Soot Distress Ink, which i then embossed, I added a layer of Versamark and Clear Embossing Powder to the floor to give it a freshly polished look.

A Love Struck Pixie Challenge..

As promised, I'm back today with a Pixie Challenge! This week's challenge is all about Hearts...use them on your project somewhere. It could be in the image, the patterned paper, the embellishments - anywhere you can think of.

I used the new Tree of Love image from the Love Struck collection, which is being released today. I coloured the image with a mix of Letraset Promarkers and Flexmarkers. My background papers come from K&Co's Sweet Nectar paper pad. I used my Heart PATP punches to give a heart border to one of my papers. I used a MFT Tab die for my sentiment, I'm loving tab dies at the moment! To finish my card i added my favourite colour of twine; a beautiful fuschia and white mix from My Mind's Eye, along with a pink heart button.

A LOVEly Sneak Peek with the Pixies

It's time for some sneaky peeks of the New 'LoveStruck' Collection of images that will be available in the Pixie Dust Studio Store later this week. Today's card features the very cute 'Catching Your Heart' image. This little cutie is coloured with Derwent Graphitint Pencils, I love the rustic vintage look he has. I found some kraft card in my stash and created a card base from that, adding some gardener's twine, heart washi tape, a tim holtz ticket, and a red heart button to finish it all off.

Pixie Love Mono!!

It's time for the first Pixie Dust Studio Challenge of 2012, I hope you had a wonderful holiday season, and that the New Year brings you all the things you wish for!

Now onto our challenge - Pixie is challenging you to create a Monochromatic Card/Project!

Use whatever colour you like, but make that your main colour with the addition of white.

I used the beautiful 'Love is in the Air' image from the Cupids Corner Collection, available in Store now. I had to go with my favourite colour, fuschia pink, I apologise now if that pinks a bit bright for you, but I love bright colours! I used papers from Echo Parks Be Mine Collection, along with Letraset Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I used a couple of sizzix heart dies to cut out my heart, along with a tab die from MFT.

For my layout I used this week's Sketch from Splitcoaststampers, which is hosted by my fellow pixie and very good friend Taylor. I have to say this sketch was perfect for this card, and i can't wait to see future sketches as Taylor really does have a knack for beautiful layouts.

New Beginnings are a Challenge with Whimsy Stamps....

Today I get to share with you my first challenge card as part of the Whimsy Stamps Digi DT.

The theme of the challenge is 'New Beginnings' - It can be a New Job, New House, New Baby, anything you like as long as it's New!!

I used the adorable 'Mushy' image which is one of Lia Stampz New Releases this month.
I thought Mushy was perfect for a card to welcome someone to either a new home or a new workplace, or simply just to say Hi!. The main new thing for me with this card is the technique I used to colour Mushy; I decided to give the 'No Black Lines' technique a go, where you either print or stamp your image in a pale colour, and then colour it in as you wish, without adding any black lines. I'm not sure if the technique is really me! but I do like how Mushy turned out.

Whimsy Stamps January Digi Release Blog Hop!!!

For my card I used a few images by the awesome Lia Stampz, Outlined Winter Trees, Kiki, Walt, Wootie and Zebri. They are all available in the Whimsy Stamps Store along with the rest of the new releases. I created my scene in photoshop, i then printed it out and coloured it with my Letraset Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I mounted my scene onto some blue patterned paper which i'd punch with my crackle border and corner punches, which i then mounted on to a black card blank.

Don't forget to leave comments along the way as there will be 2 Mystery DT Members who will each be choosing a winner from the comments left on their hop posts! These winners will each win a Whimsy digi image of their choice.

Literally! Rio and her little flying pal are ready for Valentines day!

Our little cutie Raven loves Rio and has a big heart for her.... A Heart for you Rio is ready for my Favourite Holiday where it's all about candy!

Rio is coloured in Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers, and a little Black Soot Distress Ink. I use some more of the Echo Park Be Mine Collection along with some steampunk background stamps from Technique Tuesday.

Isn't she beautiful! Kitty Love London is coloured with a mix of Letraset Promarkers and Flexmarkers, so is the background scene, a beautiful rose garden from MIC, I couldn't resist pairing the two together. I used Echo Parks Be Mine papers and stickers to complete my card.

A New Year, and New Release at Simply B Stamps

Well, at least the beginning of a release! Welcome to Simply B Stamps first preview day! It's a New Year, and the first thing we need to think about is the love filling the air right?

Our first release of the year is the brand new Teen Scene Valentine Steampunks!

Today we are previewing Box of Chocolates Miller, isn't he a handsome chap!

I coloured Miller with a mix of Letraset Promarkers and Flexmarkers, I also sponged on some Black Soot Distress ink once i'd trimmed and mounted him. I used the gorgeous Echo Park Be Mine Collection for this card, along with the spellbinders sprockets dies, and my sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps (Retro Bottle Cap stamps set)

TGF Christmas Blog Hop

Today is a Very Special Monday, as it's time for The Greeting Farm's Christmas Blog Hop, and I know every stop is going to be full of gorgeous TGF yumminess.

In honour of this joyous occasion, I have not one but two projects to share with your today, firstly how about something with a Festive feel....

I decided to try something new for this project and created a Treat Box Card. It was very simple to make I simply followed the tutorial, and used my Scor-pal for all the scoring.

I wanted to create quite a traditional Christmas project, so I chose the adorbale 'Holiday Anya' to be the main focus of my card; She's coloured with Letraset Promakers with the addition of some ultra fine white glitter. My background papers are scraps I've been keeping for ages for just the right project, and the holly paper was the perfect accompaniment to Holiday Anya, and the Tartan paper just sets it off nicely.

I die cut some flourishes out of the same card stock as i made the card, and added some pearl pins and crystal embellishments for a little bling (I coloured these with my Promarkers to coordinate with the rest of the card).

I used a couple of the Christmas Mini Postage stamps from Whimsy Stamps, along with the mini postage stamp die to create my sentiment embellishments. To finish it all off I added some beautiful red ruffled ribbon, a couple of snowflake die cuts, and a lovely little red rose.

My second project, isn't particularly festive, it's simply a very fun card...

I saw this set of sentiment stamps somewhere online, and as soon as i saw them i had to get them, If you don't know, like the true Brit I am, I love a nice cuppa tea. As is traditional for us British if anything in life goes a little awry or not to plan, then the best course of action is to 'Keep Calm and Have a Cup of Tea' a sentiment I truly embrace.

To go with this awesome sentiment, is the awesome HG Classy Digi from TGF, isn't she the perfect example of calm and serenity! My background papers came free with a magazine last summer some time; I added a couple of doilies to my background to give that real afternoon tea feel to the card. I used Airmail Bakers Twine and Red and Blue Roses to celebrate the Britishness of the card, and as a final finishing touch added some patterned washi tape, you can never add to much love to a card.

Pixie Dust Studio Challenge #104 - Glitter and Bling!

This week's challenge at the Pixie Dust Studio Challenge Blog is such a fun one, and perfect for this time of year, we want you to get the glitter out, add some bling, and get all shiny and sparkly!! All you have to do is create a project with some Glitter or Bling, nice and easy, and most of all lots of fun.

I decided that 'Sweet Santa' was perfect for this card, and you can find him in the Christmas Cuties Section of the Pixie Dust Studio.

I found this lovely festive paper in my stash that makes a lovely backdrop for my card, without being too in your face! I die cut a Christmas Tree from green card, and add some Christmas Twine to mimic decorations. Santa is coloured with promarkers, I then used some Black Velvet Flock on his boots and gloves, with some ultra fine red glitter on his outfit, and white glitter for his beard and hair. He definately sparkles! To finish my card off I added a foiled diecut sentiment.

I had great fun with this card, well except for the Black Flock, not something i'll be using often, it is just so messy!! I love all the glitter though.

Let's Do Lunch SimplyBStamps Style!!

It's Friday, so not only is it time to share with your the final image from the Teen Scene Kitchen Fun Collection, but it's also Release Day, so you can get you hands on all of these little cuties.

Here's Kiss the Cook Miller...

Isn't he Yummy? I'm sure he'll cook you up one tasty meal, as long as you remember to Kiss the Cook!!

Miller is coloured with Letraset Promarkers and matted onto black glossy card stock. Like the rest of the Kitchen Fun Cards i've shared with you this week, the papers are from Judikinz. I kept the rest of this card very simple, as i figured with all that pattern anymore embellishments could get a little lost; so all i added was some tiny alphabet stickers for my sentiment.

My layout is this weeks Splitcoaststampers Sketch - SC361.

Some Lovin' from the Oven

Can you believe it? December has fallen upon us so quickly this year as well as this new Teen Scene Kitchen Fun release from Simply Betty Stamps!!

We're on our fifth day of previews and for your eyes to feast on today we're bringing you Little Miss Muffin Rio! She's baked some yummy goodness for us and it's hot and fresh out of the oven.

Little Miss Muffin Rio is coloured with Letraset Promarkers, I added some glitter to my image and sentiment, using a quickie glue pen, and some ultra fine gold glitter. I love how her muffins sparkle.

Welcome back to day four of our Teen Scene Kitchen Fun previews and today we have Pan Slingin' London to show you! This good looking cook is about to knock out one hell of a meal, or maybe knock you out, depending on her mood, tehe!!

Doesn't she look like one sassy sweetie? I had so much fun colouring her with my letraset promarkers, I love how her hair turned out. The papers are the same ones i've been using all week, basically i took 2 sheets of 12 x 12 paper, and it's going to be enough to help create backgrounds for all my Kitchen Fun cards; I wanted to show how easy it is to create a set of beautiful cards using very limited supplies. To embellish this card I used some washi tape, tiny alphabet stickers, and a few eyelets.

Getting Spicy with Spaghetti Christian

So yesterday I promised you something spicy! well here he is meet 'Spaghetti Christian' from the Teen Scene Kitchen Fun Collection at Simply Betty Stamps.com; isn't he yummy!

I found the wordart the other day and thought it would work perfectly with Christian, as he looks like a little hottie to me, so a spicy sentiment seemed appropriate. I coloured Christian with my Letraset Promarkers before matting him onto some glossy black card. You'll recognise the paper as being the same pattern as on my previous Kitchen Fun cards. To this i added a black gingham paper to give the impression of a tablecloth, gingham always makes me thing of tablecloths!!

Mmmmmmmm Cupcake anyone

Isn't she beautiful! I used the same Judikinz paper as on yesterday's card, along with some checkerboard digital paper. To this i added some of my favourite embellishments, washi tape, and handstitching. Lola is coloured with Letraset Promarkers.

Hopefully Lola appeals to your sweet tooth, if you want something a little more spicy, then make sure you come back tomorrow for another preview.

A Very Yummy Preview from Simply Betty Stamps

Today we are previewing the first of the newest collection of images that will be available at Simply Betty Stamps in just a few short days; The Kitchen Fun Collection featuring the much loved Teen Scene characters really is yummy, and perfect for celebrations featuring food and family. Today we are introducing you to Baking Betty...

I'm not sure what she's cooking up but it looks mighty yummy!! Betty is coloured with Letraset Promarkers. My patterned paper is by Judikinz (bought in a mixed lot on ebay) I embossed some yellow cardstock with cuttlebug embossing folders, and then went over them with Wild Honey Distress Ink. I created the pink splatters using Glossy Accents and some chunky kids glitter that i got in a bargain store ages ago.

I just had to share this card with you today, I think this image is one of my favourites of all the wonderful Christmas images Betty is releasing this Christmas at Simply Betty Stamps. She's called 'Jingle Brains Betty' and is from 'The Betty's' Collection; Along with all the other Betty's she is available as a digital stamp until Midnight tomorrow (Sunday 20th November) and then she's gone for good as a digi, but will return in the near future as a clear stamp!! So if you love your Digital Stamps then you better get her now!

Betty is coloured with Letraset Promarkers, and I added some ultra fine glitter to her using a quickie glue pen.

Pixie Dust Studio Breaking Dawn Hop

Tis the Season to be Zombies....Fa la la la la...

Eh? Zombies? Yep you read it right! As you all know Betty loves Zombies, Halloween and the quirky! Christmas is not her absolute favorite of Holidays but you knew that too!

She's managed to make it her second favorite by Zombie-fying it! Whoot whoo! We have a new fun line for you... Sketchy Zombies!

We are kicking this release off with Lexi, but for the season it's Falalala Lexi... she's ready to sing you a Christmas Carol!

Isn't she the cutest zombie you've ever seen? I love her, and her friends!

I used some of my favourite Christmas paper with her, one of the snowflake designs from the DCWV Rose Tinted Christmas Stack. Along with that I used lots of white card stock, which I embossed with a swiss dots embossing folder, and I embossed two trees with a cuttlebug folder. My sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Christmas Tickets sentiments.

To embellish my card i added a mixture of glittered snowflake stickers, silver padded stars, and some clear gems.

Jude and The Rockers Christmas Release

Yes Christmas is quickly approaching, so we have some more wonderful Christmas images to share with you at Simply Betty Stamps. I've only the one card to share with you today, as i'm a little unwell. Let me introduce you to the cute and sassy MistleHolly Brittany from the Jude and The Rockers Christmas Collection.

I stamped Brittany with Versafine Ink onto watercolour paper, before colouring her with Watercolour Crayons. I use my wonky rectangle dies to cut her out, along with some aqua colour paper, and a smaller die cut for the sentiment. I created some bunting, using the whimsy stamps banner die, along with the xmas banner stamps. To finish it all off, I added some red stars, and tiny red gems for holly berries.

Challenge#99 - Paper Piecing with the Pixies

It's time for a new challenge with the Pixies at the Pixie Dust Studio Challenge Blog, and it's a goodie this week, all you have to do is do some 'Paper Piecing' on your project.

Paper Piecing with digital stamps can be really easy, especially if you like using digital papers. All i did was print out some digital patterned paper, let it dry, and then put it back through my printer, so that it would print my image over the pattern. I repeated my image on the page (using my printer's software), just in case i needed any spares. I then printed my image onto white cardstock. Then it's just out with the scissor and get cutting.

For this card i decided to use the adorable 'Under the Mistletoe' image from the 15 Days of Christmas Collection. Basically I couldn't resist picking up a penguin or two!!

I kept the rest of the card very simple, using a silver mirror card blank for my base to which i added my trimmed down image. I then added some pink washi tape, and a few pink pearls. To finish it all off I colored the mistletoe pink, and added some white to the penguins eyes.

It's Fall @ Desert Island Crafters Challenge...

I had a slight mental lapse when sticking my image together, and forgot to use foam pads, so my card features the Closed Telescoping Image Technique (not sure if that exists, but it does now, lol).

Challenge #4 at Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls and we've got some Creepy Kids!!

Welcome to new Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls challenge, I hope you are enjoying the revamped blog and challenges, I know the Dolls and I are having great fun with the new challenges.

The theme for challenge #4 is 'Scary Kids', create a project that features either some sort of Scary Kid (Damian from the Omen, The Twins from the Shining, etc) or a film that is either Scary for Kids or Scared you as a Kid!! I wonder how many of you are still scared of 'The ChildCatcher', I'm sure a few of you are!!

So onto my card for today's challenge; I went for one of my favourite films inspired by a book, the book being 'The Midwich Cuckoos' by John Wyndham, and the film is of course the Village of the Damned (1960)

I came up with the idea for this card quite quickly, as I find the children in the film to be rather scary and creepy, and therefore perfect for this challenge. I knew i wanted to use the wall image, as that really reminds me of the turning point of the story. The wall image comes from Make It Crafty and is part of the Urban Street Digi Stamp which i bought as part of the Urban Street Collection. The scary kids are the wonderful creations of Lily Chilvers the genius behind The Octopode Factory, They are her Back to School Girl and Boy images.

I kept my card very simply, using some brown cardstock from my stash, to create my card base, which i ran through my embossing machine with the Tim Holtz Sizzix Wall Embossing Folder. I printed my images, coloured them with my Letraset Promarkers, before trimming the image down, and distressing the edges. To finish the card i added some natural jute twine.

I hope you have as much fun with this challenge as I did, I can't wait to see your Scary Kid Creations.

The Coquettes are rather Spooky!!

I had some time today to make a couple of cards, just for the fun of it; so I decided to give The Coquettes a little Halloween makeover, as the last cards I used them one, were very pastel and pretty.

My first card is for this week's Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.com. I love a sketch challenge, and this one was fun, and worked perfect with my little coquettes. I also used some leftover Echo Park Happy Halloween Cardstock, such a fun collection. I added an extra layer to my card compared with the sketch, but i think it works. I used some gorgeous halloween twine, and a die cut tag on which i stamped my sentiment.
I coloured the Coquettes with my Letraset Promarkers to coordinate with my cardstock.

My second card is something really unusual for me, it's a CAS; Clean And Simple, not something i tend to do very often, and something i usually struggle with. However i saw the CAS Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.com and decided to be brave and give it a go. As soon as I saw the sketch I thought 'Washi Tape' and the rest was very simple after that. I die cut Hamlet using a Wonky Rectangle die, and coloured him with Letraset Promarkers. I added him to my card with some foam pads to give him a little height. I then stamped my MFT sentiment with Black Versafine Ink.

Things are getting Spooky with the Pixies..

It's time for a new Pixie Dust Studio Challenge, and this week, everything's gone a little Spooky, so we want to see your Spookiest, Scariest Creations using a Pixie Dust Image.

For my card I chose 'Princess of the Bunnies' from the Moonbeam Collection. Looks like the full moon has had some sort of effect on her, and the bunnies!!

I coloured Princess and the Bunnies with my Letraset Promarkers. I also gave the bunnies, some fangs!!

My Card base is a 5 x 7 easel card made from silver grey cardstock. I diecut the moon out of my blue vellum, then added a sheet of white paper behind it to brighten the blue, and i coloured the moon with Letraset Promarkers. Using scraps of the silver card i die cut and embossed some tombstones, and created a little grassy border. To finish the card off I added my sentiment using tiny alphabet stickers, and a few clear gems for stars.

I had such fun with this card, I love how versatile the Pixie Dust images are, I'm sure Kathy wasn't thinking of blood thirsty bunnies when she drew this cute image.

For today's challenge I used Pumpkin Carvin' Alex from the Sweet Gothic Kids Halloween Collection.

I want to say a massive thank you to all of you that have taken the time to leave comments on my recent posts. Lots of you have said how much you like my colouring on my 12 Days of Halloween Projects; so I thought i'd let you know how I've been creating these projects.

All of my 12 Days of Halloween Project have been created in Photoshop. I created a moonlight background by filling my background with a main colour, then on a separate layer i used the customs shapes tool to draw a full moon. I then went back to my background layer and added some lighter patches to give the impression of moon light.

To create the atmosphere in my background I use a combination of 'Cloud' brushes that i downloaded (there are absolutely tons of free photoshop brushes out there, just google and you'll find them) I add my Clouds onto a new layer, using either a lighter or darker colour than my background. I then play around with the blending mode, and opacity levels for each layer until i get the effect i'm after.

My main image is coloured by using the bucket fill tool to add my main colour to each area of the image, I then use the dodge and burn tools at add my shading and highlights.

Finally I add my text onto another layer.

I hope that doesn't all sound too complicated, because it's really not; most of the time i'm just playing around with different brushes and layer effects, it's all trial and error. I really want to encourage you to have a go, as it's can be great fun, and you can create some amazing effects. You can then use the backgrounds you've created on digital pieces like today's, or print them out to use as background papers on your card.

If you use digital stamps and images that have been created by other people, please remember to link back to your source, and give credit to the artists out there. It is wrong to use other peoples work and claim it as your own, so don't do it!!

Happy Birthday Pixie Challenge

It's time for a new challenge over at the Pixie Dust Studio Challenge Blog, and this week we've celebrating Birthdays, so all you have to do is create a Birthday Card; can't get much simpler than that!!

For my card I used Pixi Flower, Pixi Teddy & Pixi Lilly, all three of these adorable little Pixies are free on the Pixie Dust Studio Blog.

I found the background paper in a mixed paper pack, no idea who made it, but i thought it would be perfect for this card. I also found this cute little teddy bear button in my stash, but didn't like the colour of it, so use my promarkers to change the colour. I used a silver mirri card blank for my base, to which i added my backing paper. I matted my image onto a scrap of silver paper i had leftover from a previous project. I then coloured my images, to create a nice cheery card, I found a couple of pink embellishments in my stash, and some green baker's twine.

On the Third Day of Halloween..

As you have probably already guessed, today's challenge is to incorporate a black cat on your projects!

Today's Prize is another non digi released digi... Evil Queen Rio from the Teen Scene Halloween line! YEEEHAW! I know many, many of you bought these awesome stamps, as they were never available in digi form, and let me assure you that they will continue not to be available in digi form unless you win them. I encourage you to still play along for the digi version as you can have lots of fun with digis! They can be colored digitially, resized, merged... well lots of fun! I do hope you will all continue to play along and again you have until October 30th at 10PM PST to upload for day 3!

On today's project i used the super cute Witchy Boo Betty Digistamp; I flipped her so she's flying in the opposite direction, as this made it easier to fit her into the centre of my piece, and you can still read the text over the moon.

Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls Challenge#3

It's time for Challenge #3 at Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls and this week we are looking at the work of another awesome Director and Producer;

Guillermo del Toro

Guillermo del Toro has a habit of creating wonderfully dark films, which contain great storylines, and wonderful imagery. Most famous for Pan's Labyrinth, he has Directed and Produced films as diverse as Hellboy, Blade II, and Kung Fu Panda 2.

Your challenge is to create a project inspired by any of Guillermo's work, it can take the form of a card, layout, digital picture, whatever takes your fancy. Just remember to come back here and link up your creation, and share with us your inspiration.

For my project I was inspired by Pan's Labyrinth, and the freaky looking man with eyes in his hands! I decided to create a digital picture based on this, drawing some freaky hands and adding eyeballs to the centre. For my Ofelia I used the 'Alice in Wonderland' Digital stamp from Dilly Beans Digi Stamps.

I hope you'll be inspired to check out the work of Guillermo del Toro, and hopefully join in this weeks challenge.

Welcome back to day 2!! Whoohoo! Have you started day one? Ready for day 3? Ha! Guess we have to get through day 2 first huh?

Welcome to the Simply Betty Stamps second annual 12 days of Halloween! If you all joined us last year, welcome back! If you are new, hang on to your coloring media it's going to be a bumpy Broom stick ride!

Let me explain the game... unlike last year where you had two or three days to complete your projects, this time around you have until the 30th of October to upload all your projects for all the 12 days. Of course each day will have it's own linky, but you must upload your projects accordingly. Each project must be a new project. On the 30th, all links will close, the winners will be announced on Nov. 5th. There will be several winners, but one person that enters ALL 12 days and is best of the best will be chosen to be a part of our DT for 2012!

For today you must create anything; card, scrap page lay out, altered item.. ANYTHING using an owl and creepy tree in your project. Pretty simple right?

You have until 10pm PST on the 30th October to upload your project and be considered for the prize.

The prize for today is Miller Igor from the Teen Scene Halloween in... DIGI form! That's right you heard me right DIGI form for one lucky winner! The Teen Scene Halloween line has never been available in digi form, nor will they ever be in the future, so you may want to play along on for this one!

Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls Challenge # 2

Time for Challenge Number Two over at Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls, and for this challenge I've picked one awesomely talented man to focus on;

Terry Gilliam

Terry Gilliam, is a wonderful Artist/Animator, Actor, and Director. I'm sure many of you will know him from the Monty Python team, but since then he's directed some of the most fantastical fantasy films ever made.

The Challenge is to Create a Card/Project based on any of Terry Gilliam's Work

For my card I decided to focus on one of his more recent films; The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnususs.
I found this wonderful still from the film, which inspired me to create my card.

I used a digital paper for my background, to which i add a very ornate frame, I did this in phototshop, and then printed it out at the size i wanted. I then used two of the soon to be release 'Coquette's from Simply Betty Stamps for my Tony and Valentina. I cut out the inside of the frame and added some silver foil to the back to give the impression of the mirror. I layered this onto some black and white polka dot paper, and a silver card blank.

Welcome to the Xander Zone

Welcome to the Xander Zone!! You are in for quite a trip through todays Blog Hop and Auction. Our dear friend Betty Roberts, owner of Simply Betty Stamps has just found out this week that her 17 year old son Christian has Stage 1 Throat Cancer. He will be having surgery next week and many months of Therapy to follow. (To read more from Betty on what’s going on please go HERE)

Betty’s DT and the Crafty Sprouts DT along with a few friends have come together today for the From the Xander Zone Blog Hop and Auction! If you are stumbling into this hop please head to Crafty Sprouts to catch the beginning of the hop!

If you hopped here from Kristi then you are right on track!

As you hop along today you will see cards created with Xander, the first in a new series to be released called “From the Xander Zone”. He is available with a donation to Betty’s family. Christian will be undergoing Surgery next week to remove his tonsils and then the thrice weekly Therapy will begin on the tumor. His therapy could last for many months.

There is also a contest running through October 16^th and Christian will pick a random winner who will receive the whole collection! The details on the contest are at the SBS blog.

Here is my card for Christian;

As you can see not only did I use Xander, but I used Phoebe and Shelby from the 'Xander Zone' Collection. This is quite an experimental card for me as I coloured my images digitally before printing them out. I used lots of purple on my card as that is Christian's favourite colour, I added some of my favourite things to the card too, you'll notice the sequin mesh, and ticket sentiments. I resisted the temptation to add any pink pearls (another of my very favourite things). I'm hoping that this card, along with all the others that are being sent, will bring a smile to Christian's face. He is a lovely young man, who has a difficult battle ahead, but i know with our support and prayers, he will win the war and grow into the man he's meant to be.

I know money is tight for everyone at the moment, but i ask that you give as much as you can spare, even if it's only pennies/cents; it all adds up and will help pay for Christian's treatment. I thank you in advance for your generosity and the support you've given Betty and her family at this difficult time; I know that it has lifted her spirits to know what we all care so very much.

Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls First Challenge

Nice and Easy, Yes? Well Yes and No, Yes as I love Halloween, and No because I've been spoilt for choice, What Film to Use? So I thought i'd go through a few of my favourite Halloween films and see if I could find a common link...

See a common link? Yes they all feature Witches, I realised I quite like Witches, I remember wanting to dress up as a Witch for Halloween when i was a child. So I decided to create a little Witchy card...

Jude and The Rockers Fall and An Appeal for Help!

Today I'd like to share with you a couple of cards I've made with the newly released Jude and the Rockers Fall Collection of images at Simply Betty Stamps.

The images were released earlier this weekend, as Betty's had some bad news and needs to get some money coming in now. Betty's 17 year old son Christian has been diagnoised with Throat Cancer, which in itself is more than any parent/family/teenager should have to deal with, but to make matter's worse in the USA they don't have a National Health Service like we do over here, so have to pay for their treatment, and in most cases up front.

Betty really is one of the nicest people I know, she's the sort of person that would do anything for anyone if they needed her help, so I'm asking you to show Betty that people do care, and to help out in whatever way you can. You can buy Stamps and Digistamps from Betty's store, or donate to the 'Help Christian Fund' using the donate button (It's on my blog on the sidebar, aswell as on the Simply Betty Stamps Blog). I know that times are tough financially for us all, but some things are more important, and remember every penny/cent counts cos it all adds up.

In exchange for your donation you will get the awesome 'Zander' digistamp...

Zander is the first in a new collection of images from Simply Betty Stamps. We will be running a contest too, all you have to do to enter is create a card with Zander, blog it and send it on to Christian. The winner of the contest will get the rest of the Collection of images for free.

Pixie Challenge - What is your favourite Book or Movie?

It's time for a new challenge over at the Pixie Dust Studio challenge blog, and this week it's a great challenge, all you have to do is create a card/project inspired by your Favourite Book or Movie! I think the hardest bit of this challenge will be deciding on just one book!

After a little thought here is the card i came up with...

I love the plays of Shakespeare, and one of my favourites is Romeo & Juliet, so that is the inspiration behind my card for today's challenge.

I used the Romeo Loves Juliet image from the Pixie Dust Studio. I teamed this beautiful image up with some gorgeous papers from the Echo Park Be Mine Collection. For my layout I decided to use this weeks sketch from the Splitcoaststampers.com Sketch Challenge. I used some of my favourite things on this card, including sequin mesh, pearls, and hearts, along with a lovely 'Love' embellishment I found in my stash.

As soon as I saw Willy I knew which papers I wanted to use with him. My background paper is from a digital paper set 'Geometric Colours' by Pixelpaperprints , I coloured Willy to coordinate with the papers, and added a few pearls to give the impression of it raining candy in Willy's Wonderful Chocolate Factory.

Fancy something Cute and Quirky?

It's Release Day at Pixie Dust Studio

Release Day is finally here, so you can now get your hands on the absolutely gorgeous, Pixie of OZ Collection of images at the Pixie Dust Studio.

I love the film that inspired this collection, so had great fun creating my card for today's release...

My card features Brainy, Courage and Tin Heart. I colour my images with Letraset Promakers before cutting them out and adding to my card. I kept the background of my card very simple, using some black cardstock for my card base, to which i added some red cardstock panels, at the bottom of which I added some gold cardstock to mimic the yellow brick road.

Going Round and Round with another Pixie Peek!

It's Thursday so time for another Pixie Dust Studio Challenge, and another sneak peek. This week's challenge theme is 'Round and Round' think circles and polka dots.

For my card i decided to focus on the gorgeous image that is 'Pixie D and Prince Toto', I figured that Pixie D had been away from home for a while, so Aunt Em would be missing her, so would have a much loved picture of her on her living room wall.

I kept my card very simply using some polka dot paper for my wallpaper, and used a couple of dies to cut out Pixie D's picture and frame. I used a brad and some twine to hang Pixie D's picture. I decided to add the banner, as it needed a sentiment, and I'm sure that's what Aunt Em was praying every time she looked at the picture.

A Simply Betty Stamps Toot from the Crypt

Good Morning Simply Betty Stamps fans, today it's my turn to share a project with you, so i thought i would combine a little Toot with the from the Crypt feature.

Today i'm showcasing the Emo Betty Witch stamp...

Isn't she the most perfect image for your Halloween projects. Today Betty Witch is having her portrait painted with watercolours; yes i've a little watercolour toot to show you how to make a stamped image look like a watercolour painting.

First of all you need some watercolour paper and a permanent ink, I used Stazon in stable brown to stamp Betty. I then added a very rough wash of blue for the sky, and some green for the ground.

As you can see my background is very rough, just there to give an impression of colour and some movement.

Next i blocked in the main colours on Betty...

I used a slightly smaller brush for this stage, for Betty's skin I added a wash of pinky red, which was way to red, so using a tissue I removed most of the wet paint, with left a nice rosy colour behind.

Next I added in some mid tones to Betty and her outfit and hair...

I also added some darker green to the ground to give the impression of shadows, and to help plant the image.

I then changed to a smaller brush, and working with slightly thicker paint, started to add some shadows. I left it to dry before adding my final shadows, and some colour to Betty's lips..

I also added a thin wash of red/purple to Betty's outfit and hat, just to blend it a little more, and warm it up. I also added some dark red/purple/brown to the cat.

So that's the finished painting, but it still looks a bit rough, that's partly down to my painting style (which isn't the best) and to the fact that it needs a frame.

I used a Spellbinders frame die, and some Co-ordinations cardstock to create a frame.

That's it, a fun little watercolour portrait. I hope you like it and have time to have some fun with your watercolours.

Well maybe not Wicked, but definately a little naughty lol!! Today I get to share with you a sneak peek for the 'Pixie of OZ' Release which is coming this Friday 23rd September, at the Pixie Dust Studio.

I used the 'Wicked Pixie of the West' image for my card today, along with some Echo Park Happy Halloween paper and alphabet stickers.

Halloween with a Victorian Twist

Have I got a treat for you today! It's time to share with you the final Halloween images of this year from Simply Betty Stamps, and oh boy are they beautiful. Today we are previewing four of the Halloween Steampunk images, and tomorrow we will show you the final three and you'll be able to get them all in store, in gorgeous red rubber.

The Halloween Steampunks will not be available to purchase as digital stamps, a few lucky commentors will win them as digital stamps tho, so make sure you comment on all the DT blogs if you want to win the digital stamp. You will notice a couple of my images are slightly different to the rest of the DT, as i've flipped them before printing them. You can do this with the actual rubber stamps using the 'Kissing' Technique. Other than that I've not done anything to the images digitally, so you can re-create my cards with the rubber stamps. If your asking why i get to use the digital stamp and you don't, it's pretty simple, Simply Betty Stamps in based in the USA and I'm in the UK; and the postal systems are very slow, so to meet the release date I use the digital version of images.

Introducing Bella the Vampiress..

Isn't she a beauty, I coloured her with my Letraset Promarkers, and a little white gel pen. I added lots of tiny green gems to the card, and used a couple of them to give her some gorgeous green eyes.

Introducing Draco the Ghostly Gentleman..

I love Draco, such a scary face. I thought he'd look cool in some bright colours, so went for these rather in your face lime, purple, and fuschia striped papers. Afterall who said Ghosts had to be pale? Here's a close up of his face to see, his rhinestud eyes, and the glimmer mist I added to him after I'd coloured him with Letraset Promarkers...

Let me introduce you too Gillian the Ghost...

As soon as I saw Gillian I knew i wanted to use these beautiful vintage rose papers with her, definately not my normal style of papers, but I think she looks stunning, and so sad!

And for today's final introduction, Here's Jacob the Warewolf...

Is he a Sexy Beast or What?? I kept this card quite simple, I used Sketch#350 from Splitcoaststampers.com for my layout, along with some Echo Park Halloween Paper, and some vintage damask paper. Jacob is coloured with Letraset Promarkers, and then sprayed with glimmer sprays over a grid mask, before being added to the card. I love how the grid over jacob echo's the background paper.

“30 Things About My Invisible Illness ” Meme

I've just found out that today is the last week of Invisible Illness Week, and thought it was a perfect opportunity to show my support for other people who suffer with an invisible illness or two, and to let you know a little more about me.

1. The illness I live with is: Fibromyalgia, Hyper-Thyroidism, Depression, Social Anxiety, Hypermobility and Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
2. I was diagnosed with it in the year: I was first diagnoised with Thyroid problems when i was 18(19 years ago), when it was found I had and over-active Thyroid. I was on medication for a year or two, which helped settle it down. But it came back when i was 24. I then underwent Radio Iodine Treatment, which cured the over-active thyroid, but after a year my thyroid went under-active, and I'm now on thyroid replacement treatment for life. I was diagnoised with Depression in my mid twentys and after some counselling and medication, I was fine for a couple of years. I was diagnoised with Fibromyalgia in 2004 which had a dramatic effect on my life, my mother had been living with fibromyalgia for years, so I knew it wasn't going to be an easy illness to deal with. This lead to a major struggle with depression, anxiety and IBS. It wasn't until last month that i was diagnoised with Social Anxiety/Phobia. 3. But I had symptoms since: as long as i can remember i've been troubled with Anxiety.
4. The biggest adjustment I’ve had to make is: I lost my job in 2007, as I couldn't keep up a productive work routine.
5. Most people assume: I'm fine, or just lazy!!
6. The hardest part about mornings are: waiting for the fog to clear and my brain to work!!
7. My favorite medical TV show is: Casualty, although i've not watched it for a couple of years.
8. A gadget I couldn’t live without is: Internet Access
9. The hardest part about nights are: The Pain, not being able to get comfortable, all the worries running through my head, the loneliness
10. Each day I take 8 pills & vitamins. (No comments, please)
11. Regarding alternative treatments I am open to try most things, I found aromatheraphy and massage can help.
12. If I had to choose between an invisible illness or visible I would choose a visible one, i'm constantly paranoid that people think I'm just fat and lazy, as I don't look ill. I may look tired, but not ill!
13. Regarding working and career, I lost my job as an administrative assistant back in 2007, as i couldn't cope with either the mental or physical activity. I have no career!
14. People would be surprised to know: How lonely I feel!!
15. The hardest thing to accept about my new reality has been: the fact that nothing ever seems to improve!
16. Something I never thought I could do with my illness that I did was: ???
17. The commercials about my illness: Commercials about Fibromyalgia don't exist!!!
18. Something I really miss doing since I was diagnosed is: feeling normal
19. It was really hard to have to give up: my independance
20. A new hobby I have taken up since my diagnosis is: I've always been into Arts and Crafts, but have spent alot of time developing my papercrafting skills.
21. If I could have one day of feeling normal again I would: Spend the day at the Seaside with my husband
22. My illness has taught me: who i can rely on in my life, and how valuable true friends are.
23. Want to know a secret? One thing people say that gets under my skin is: maybe if you lost some weight your might feel better!!!!
24. But I love it when people: laugh at my humour and wit
25. My favorite motto, scripture, quote that gets me through tough times is: My favourite motto is, if we didn't have the bad times, how would we know how good the good times are.
26. When someone is diagnosed I’d like to tell them: I'm sorry, wish I had a cure
27. Something that has surprised me about living with an illness is: how judgemental people can be!
28. The nicest thing someone did for me when I wasn’t feeling well was: my husband is always there to give me a hug and make me a cup of tea, and a cup of tea makes everything better!!
29. I’m involved with Invisible Illness Week because: people should not have to suffer in silence, and it's important to make people think about what Invisible Illness's are
30. The fact that you read this list makes me feel: Blessed, that you've taken the time to read and hopefully understand.

I know some of my answer are very long winded, but it's how my life is, and I try not to burden people with my problem too often, but if I'm going to share my thougts and feeling, I'm going to do it in detail.

Sorry I'm a little late with my Desert Islands Crafts Challenge card for this week. Not been well, so things have taken me a little longer than usual, but i was determined to get my card finished.

Here's my card...

It took me quite a while to decide on what image to use, so i had a little surf around the web, and stumbled across Mo's Digital Pencil; Mo Manning is one very talented illustrator and draws some of the most beautiful images I've seen. They are usually a little too traditional for my style of cards, but were perfect for this challenge. I could not decide which of these adorable children to use, so i merged all four of them together in photoshop to create this little scene. You can buy these images in the All 4 School set.

I coloured the images with my Prismacolor Verithin Pencils. Used some plaid paper from my stash along with some Echo Park Playground Paper. The only embellishment i added to the card was some plaid washi tape.

Release the Zombies

It's Release day over at Simply Betty Stamps, and the Zombies are desperate to escape and come visit you, but before you go ahead and order them, let's introduce you to the final three in the Halloween Zombie Teens Collection.

Here's Lola Bo Peep

Doesn't she look Pretty in Pink, looks like she's having lots of fun collecting Candy too! I teamed Lola up with some Echo Park Be Mine Papers, along with some black washi tape, and pink gems. I used the Tim Holtz Rosette Die to make my rosettes, and I couldn't resist adding the cute little pink lamb button I found in my stash.

Here's Dino Christian

Isn't that one of the best halloween costumes you've seen. I think this is my favourite in the collection. I just love the expression on his face, and he was so much fun to colour. I teamed him up with some Echo Park Playground Papers, some paperclips, and a stamped and die cut sentiment.

No, It's a Zombie! It's time to preview some more spooktacular new images from Simply Betty Stamps. Today we are introducing you to three of the new Zombie Teens, all decked up in their Halloween Costumes of course.

Introducing Fairy Princess Rio..

Have you ever seen such a happy looking Zombie (one that's not gnawing on some poor victim) Isn't she pretty too, I'm sure she was the life and soul of the party before the Zombie Apocalypse. Looks like she's out to have a fun night of Trick or Treating.

Here' Spider Queen London..

Oh dear, Spider Queen London's a Silly Ho ho ho, she's got all dressed up for the wrong holiday, guess she must have a little too much brain matter missing!! She does look very festive tho, obviously a Zombies not just for Halloween!

Ooops, Looks like he didn't fancy hanging around here, and is off out Trick or Treatin' already, maybe you'll catch him over at the Simply Betty Stamps Blog, you better be quick tho, he's mighty speedy.

Does Science Drive You Mad?

It is certainly driving Mad Scientist Christian more than a little mad, he doesn't seem to be able to get his experiments to work, they all literally blow up in his face!

Mad Scientist Christian is from the newly released Teen Scene Back 2 Skool Collection of stamps at Simply Betty Stamps.

Is it a Boy or Is it a Girl?? Ask Pixie!

SO sorry to keep you waiting today...

Are we ready for another Pixie Challenge this week???

This week's challenge is...
"Is it a BOY or Is it a GIRL???"
Create a baby girl or a baby boy card/project!!!

I used the adorable Baby Bun Bun image from the Oh Baby Collection at the Pixie Dust Studio. I love how you can colour this image for a baby boy or baby girl card. I decided to make a card for a baby boy for a change, I kept it really simply using some paper from the Papermania Sweet Nothings Collection along with some Core-dinations card, which i embossed with a heart embossing folder. I coloured Bun Bun with my Letraset Promarkers and a little white gel pen. I then cut him out, cutting away the string for the balloon, as i wanted to add something different for that. I couldn't find any ribbon or twine in my stash that looked right, so i tore a long piece of washi tape from the roll, and carefully folded it to create a long thin strip. I then stuck this to the back of my image, and trimmed the end. I love how the washi tape gives it a little more dimension, and was the perfect thing to hold my little baby boy tag.

School is Cool with the Pixies

This week's Pixie Dust Studio Challenge is ...

"School is COOL!"

Pixie challenges you to create a card/project using a

School Theme!!!

For my card i used the beautiful Pearl of Wisdom image from The Pearl Collection available at the Pixie Dust Studio. I coloured Pearl with my Letraset Promarkers. I used a chalkboard background image from Tiddly Inks, and papers from Echo Park, along with some bakers twine, heart buttons, embosssed label sentiment, and some tiny flower gems for Pearl's hair.

This card is also my DT card for the new challenge over at Desert Island Crafts Challenge. Our Itinerary comes from Maria Matters this week.

Strange things come out at night at The Stamping Boutique

Yes indeed, very strange things are out and about at The Stamping Boutique, and the strangest thing so far I've seen is 'Medusa', now isn't she a scary sight.

I'm rather sad now, as this is the last post I will be making as a member of The Stamping Boutique's Design Team, my six months is up today. I can not believe it's been six months already, and I've had a truly wonderful time working with some very talented designers and the truly awesome talent that is Tracey Malnofski.

The Stamping Boutique has a DT Call on at the moment, and I highly recommend that you apply, not only will you have the chance to work with some wonderful images, but it's one of the friendliest groups of ladies i've been lucky enough to work with. Not sure if your work is of a high enough standard, well i'm sure it is, but you'll never know unless you give it a go; so go ahead and apply what do you have to lose? You can find all the details here.

Back 2 Skool you go...

It's Tuesday so that means it time for another awesome Release at Simply Betty Stamps. Did you like the previews yesterday? Well we've another 3 images to share with you today, and you can now get them all over at Simply Betty Stamps.

I've only the one card to share with you today, unfortunately i'm a little under the weather at the moment, so I've not been as productive as I would have liked. I do have to say that I love my card for today, featuring the super sweet Schoolgirl Betty...

I think the Teen Scene images are some of my favourites to colour of all the images i get to play with. I love how they are cute but all have a little quirky edge too, and they are not skinny, I have real trouble with skinny images, partly because they are a pain to colour, and I also think they are very unrealistic and reinforce negative body image issues on younger crafters.

Back to Skool with Simply Betty Stamps

It's that time of year again, all the lovely little ones get to go back to school and torment their teachers for a bit, lol!! Good thing i've not got kids, don't think i've the patience, and I don't want to share my crafty goodies lol!!

To Celebrate the return to school Simply Betty Stamps is releasing another awesome collection of Teen Scene Images; the Teen Scene Back 2 Skool Collection will be availalbe tomorrow in store, but for now here's some sneak peeks...

Sporty Lola

Lola obviously has excellent ball skills, and looks very pretty in pink. I used digital papers for this card from the Pretty n Pink Pirate Set by Peachpopclipart. To which I added some black and white striped washi tape, pink crystal brads, and a sentiment made using my dymo label maker.

My next card, erm, well, you see the cat was sick on it, then the dog ate it along with my homework, and then the big bullys stole my school bag. So i've not got anymore cards today!!!! Bad Suzi

I guess today's report would be 'could do better', we'll have to see if I can do better tomorrow, when we reveal the rest of the Back 2 Skool Collection.

Let's Get Sketchy with Simply Betty Stamps

Yipheeeee it's Friday, hopefully you've all had a great week, and are looking forward to a long weekend. It's time for another card challenge at Simply Betty Challenges, and it's a really simple one. All you have to do is use a sketch, from anywhere you like (please link to the sketch so we can find it too) and a Simply Betty Stamps image.

I was spoilt for choice with all the wonderful new release from Simply Betty Stamps this week, but decided to create another card featuring 'Igor Miller'. I used this weeks Sketch Challenge #347 from Splitcoaststampers for my layout, this layout was just perfect for this card. My papers are from Echo Parks Happy Halloween Collection, along with the house and fence die cut stickers. My sentiment is a wordart i printed onto Letraset Safmat.

Miller is coloured with Letraset Promarkers, and then i decided to add a sponged background using some Black Soot Distress Ink, and a foam pad blending tool. As i was sponging my background the top right corner of the paper decided to curl, so i thought i'd leave it like that; a nice little happy accident i thought.

Tag Your It!!

Good morning it's Thursday so time for another fun challenge with the Pixies :)

This week we are challenging you to ...

Add a TAG to your card/project OR CREATE a TAG!!!

I used the adorable Just LION Around image for my card this week. He really s a little cutie. I raided my paper stash this week, using a background paper from a K&Co mixed collection. I can hardly believe how much patterned paper i have, but i just can't resist buying more, i'm a sucker for a pretty paper! I used some orange and green card stock from my stash to create my card base and tag. I created a pocket on the front of the card to put the tag in, but decided it look better on top. I coloured my little lion with Letraset Promarkers, and a little white gel pen for highlights. I added a star eyelet and some baker's twine to my tag before adhering it to my card. To finish it all off I stamped the 'UR2CUTE' sentiment directly onto the patterned paper.

The Stamping Boutiques Bitten by the Bug 2!!

The Halloween Bug has hit The Stamping Boutique, and they are sponsoring a Happy Hauntings Challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2. You might have noticed by now that I quite like Halloween, so I had to play along with this challenge.

I've used the Haunted Bird House image on my card. This and all the other Halloween and Fall inspired images are available for $1 each today as it's 'One Buck Wednesday', so go grab yourself an image or two.

I coloured my image with my Letraset Promarkers, and matted it onto some black cardstock. I used some purple haunted paper for my background, to which i added my image and a sentiment. I diecut the bat and fence from cardstock, adding some white card behind the bats face and colouring it's eyes. The bat is raised on foam pads so i could bend his wings a little. To finish my card off I added a pumpkin brad.

That's it for now, I'm off to play with some more fun images.

Good Day Friends, Did you enjoy yesterdays previews? I'm sure you did, and todays images are even better, I think these might be my favourite Simply Betty Stamps images of all time.

Introducing Lola Addams

The Addams Family is one of my favourite films of all time, and Wednesday is my favourite character, reminds me of myself!! I adore this image of Lola as Wednesday, she looks so unimpressed, lol! I thought a little bit of colour might cheer her up, so out came the pink pens and paper, sequin waste, washi tape and stapler. Her expression might not have changed, but she looks mighty pretty in pink.

Christian Addams

Here is Christian, drawn as Gomez Addams, but i've coloured him here as Beetlejuice. He looks wonderful however you colour him. This is my DT card for the new challenge over at the Burtonesque Dolls, so hop over there to get full details of the challenge, and see the rest of the Dolls awesome creations.

The Whole Group Together

I love this image of all the Teen Scene's together in their Halloween Costumes, looks like a group photo from a very cool party. I spent a long time colouring this image, but it felt like minutes, I do love colouring, and this image just captures you imagination. I kept the rest of the card very simple so that the image is the main focus, using the background paper to create a torn frame, and adding a ribbon and rose as my finishing touches.

A Teen Halloween Preview

Hello My Beauties, Today I get to share with you three of the amazingly awesome Halloween Teen Scene images from Simply Betty Stamps. They will all be released tomorrow, and you are going to want them ALL!!

Introducing..
Mummy London

Isn't she gorgeous, I love anything Egyptian, so I love this image. I kept my card fairly simple, printing off backing papers from an Egyptian themed craft CD. The scarab is from an online tutorial site, DragoArt.com; Where you can learn to draw just about anything.

Igor Miller

I love this image, so cute and creepy, Igor is such a neat character. I used a Halloween Dotty Paper from My Mind's Eye Black Bird Collection for the background of this card. I coloured Igor in coordinating coloured Letraset Promarkers, and added a Halloween WordArt Sentiment using Letraset Safmat. To finish my card, I embellished it with a Spider diecut and web, and a couple of Bats.

Evil Queen Rio

This is definately the cutest Evil Queen I've ever seen. I tried to make her look more evil by colouring her skin green, but she still looks mighty cute to me. My background paper for this card is from Echo Park's Happy Halloween Collection. I kept the embellishments very simply on this card, adding just a few black gems and a Halloween Sentiment printed on Safmat.

My Girl Lollipop

Let me introduce you to one very sweet little lady; this is Miss Lolli Pop, and she is part of the wonderful Candy Jar Collection of images available tomorrow at the Pixie Dust Studio.

I coloured Miss Lolli with my Letraset Promarkers, taking my colours from the 3 lollipop buttons; I then came across this paper in my stash, and couldn't believe how well it went with the colours I'd used. I used one of the my favourite border punches to give the paper the look of a note book. I then added some washi tape along the bottom of the card before adding my sentiment using Tiny Tag Alphabet Stickers from Cosmo Cricket. I added the all important lollipop buttons, and then decided it still needed something else. So I decided to add some pink organza ribbon, I used a thin metallic thread to sew a running stitch through the ribbon, then i simply pulled the thread tight to get the ruffles and added a few stitches at the bottom to secure it; I added the ribbon to my card using staples.

My Miss Lolli Pop card also fits with this week's Pixie Dust Studio Pixie Challenge, which is 'Tween Teen's Dream', create a card/project suitable for a tween or teen??

Monsters on the Island!!

It's time for a new challenge at Desert Island Craft Challenges! This time the Itinerary was chosen by the lovely Suzie McFloozy! Remember to enter you need to use at least 3 items from the list, but we love it when you use as many as you can!

Suzie's Itinerary

Here's my project...

I decided to use these cute little monster stamps from Recollections to create a bookmark. I stamped my monsters onto some white cardstock, and patterned paper. I then cut the monsters out of the patterned paper, and adhered it to the cardstock, so that the pattern replaced the monsters bodies. I then used a mix of Sakura pens to colour the eyes, teeth, feet, horns, hands, nails and tongue, before adding black pearls to the eyes for pupils. I then added some Tiny Type Alphabet Stickers from Cosmo Cricket, along with some bright dotted ribbon, and a few staples to finish it off.

A Pretty Sneaky Challenge Card

I've got something a little special to share with you today. Betty @ Simply Betty Stamps.com has lots of beautiful images being released over the next couple of months, and she thought it would be fun to let you have a little sneaky peek now and again. So I got to play along with some challenges, and here is what i came up with.....

This is The Corpse Bride from the Burton Chibis Collection which will be released in September, isn't she beautiful. I coloured her with my beloved Letraset Promarkers, following the sketch at I love Promarkers Challenge Blog. I love this paper, such lovely shades of blue with those beautiful butterflies it's from the Papermania Spring Life Colossal Paper Pack.
